Seth Fiifi Afful is a self taught Contemporary Ghanaian artist who lives in Accra, the Capital city of Ghana. He was born on June 1st, 1990, and is the 3rd of four siblings. Seth has been sketching since age 9. Even though he was introduced to the art world at an early age by his brother Foster Sakyiamah, he went on to graduate from college with a diploma in agriculture.
Seth uses patterns to interpret and project unity among humanity. He uses uniformly arranged floral patterns for the background and clothing of his figurative paintings. Seth believes in the mutual nature of humanity and by using the same flower pattern on the body of his figures, he is demonstrating that while we are all of different complexion, we are all basically of the same flesh. Irrespective of our individual physical body appearances, culture, race, religion, sex, and gender, we are all united as one by our DNA. Seth uses the uniformly arranged patterns on the background and clothing of his work to interpret the bond between humanity which moves in one direction. The green eyes of his human art figures symbolize the richness of the world when humanity is united.
